Richard Mallery is the Author of Birdfeeding 101, originally published by Doubleday in 1997. Nuts About Squirrels was published in 2000 by Warner Books. Both these titles came from material Mallery had written during a twenty-year period while publishing The Dick E. Bird News. Crossing the Divide was written after Mallery thru-hiked the Continental Divide Trail from Mexico to Jasper, Alberta, Canada in 1999. The Dr. R.V. Shrink books were born out of his life-long history of being in and around the Recreational Vehicle Industry. Most of the content in these two volumes comes from his hundreds of articles written for and published by RVtravel.com Mallery continues to write under the pen names of Dick E. Bird, Dr. R.V. Shrink, Packtoter and his real name Richard E. Mallery. He has thru-hiked the CDT in 1999, GDT in 2001, AZT in 2014, and the PCT in 2018/19.
